Tone 1 Troparion | 🎼 Score & Pointed Notation | Simplified Obikhod | Instrumental for Study
This is the first in a new series of simplified Obikhod melodies for the 8 tones of the Octoechos, prepared especially for small parish choirs — where there may be only one to three singers, and not everyone reads music fluently.
The score is presented in standard Western notation with just the main melody and bass line, keeping it clear and uncluttered. Beneath it, the same melody appears in Digital Pointed Notation (DPN), making it easier to follow text accents and phrasing without needing full sight‑reading skills.
The tone is marked Tone 1t to indicate the Troparion melody family, distinguishing it from other Tone 1 variants such as “Lord I Have Cried,” stikhera, or Alleluia.
The text is in English, using the translation from The Deanery, part of the Archdiocese of Thyateira and Great Britain.
Package includes:
— 2‑page PDF with simplified score (melody + bass) and Ppointed notation
— Audio file: melody on guitar, bass line on organ
